Eastern Cape Bass Fishing
The Eastern Cape of South Africa offers some of the most stunning scenery in the country. With a mild climate, Bass have a long growing season and the resident Florida strain Largemouth Bass in lakes and dams such as Wriggleswade and Elandsjag (now renamed Impofu) can grow very large, a 4.3Kg (9 1/2 lbs) fish is the current lake record. While the province is not endowed with many Bass fishing lakes, those that it has are amongst the best in South Africa. Bass have not become well established in the province's rivers.
